Anyway, back to California! Yes, we stopped in LA and Santa Barbara, but the main reason for planning the trip was to visit Paso Robles. And realllllly the main reason for visiting Paso, was to visit Epoch. You might recognize Epoch Wines, because I actually wrote about them 2 years ago

I'll get more into Paso Robles specifically on another post, but when you think Paso Robles wine, Epoch Estate Wines is what should come to mind.  Epoch is actually the oldest winery on the central coast. The estate became Epoch in 2010, but in the 1800s it began as Ascension Winery, then became York Mountain Winery shortly after.

I honestly don't even know where to begin when talking about Epoch, because everything is SO GOOD. The wine, the people, the history... I can't get enough. Epoch was the last winery we visited andddd was our favorite. It definitely had the best overall wine (which is no surprise, since Robert Parker loves them). We actually joined their wine club, because we loved it so much! Their tasting room is full of history - it has original and preserved parts of the grounds and they truly pay homage to their roots, which I love. When we did our tasting, we also did the historic tour, which leads me to my 3rd point... people. Epoch's associates and staff were so nice and accommodating. They simply can't be beat!

Overall, if you're going to Paso Robles, it would be a mistake to not visit Epoch and if you don't have plans to head to Paso, do it!! If you're looking for wines to purchase from Epoch, our favorites this go around were the Veracity and the Zinfandel.
