The Art of Versatility: Gingham Top 3 Ways
If I had to call out my own catch phrase in regard to fashion blogging, it would have to be "versatile". I'm like "this is SO versatile" or "worth the splurge, because it's versatile." It's actually a very genuine statement from me, because it's how I think/shop. This weekend I realized that I say it so much, but I haven't truly shown y'all what that could mean, so here goes!
This top is the perfect guinea pig for my "art of versatility" posts, because it may not seem so versatile when you initially look at it. It's that sweet, serenity hue, that Pantone said would be one of the colors of the year, and boy it is! It really looks a lot like spring, and pretty casual at that, but I hope from my above posts, you could see that it can be styled very differently.
Yes, it is more than I'd usually spend on a short sleeve shirt. At $69.95, I'd usually say "No thank you"; however, it's Madewell, so you knot the quality is there. Additionally, I'm usually willing to spend a little bit more for items that have a uniqueness to them. This half collar and button up back, definitely make it a niche item, that can't be forgotten! It may be interesting, but with the gingham print, it is definitely a classic, which makes it more basic...another clarifying factor to make me spend a little more.
So what do you think? Do you agree or disagree? Which is your favorite way I styled it? Most importantly, would you buy it?
