Hey friends! I really wasn't sure what to title this post... I wanted to recognize this start of the new season and just kind of chat. Don't get me wrong, I loooove the turn of the season and fall in general.  It's the time of year when my nails are pretty much always maroon. And of course I adore the clothes -the rich burgundies and greens that unearth, even though the world is actually withering, in preparation to re-birth in spring. I'll talk about transitional wardrobe at another time, but this outfit is definitely how I celebrate fall in Texas. It won't actually get cool until November or December, so I use textures, colors, and seasons, to really dress the part.

Y'all have seen my velvet mules that I can't keep off my feet -did a blog post on velvet shoes here, but this is the direct link to them.  BUT have you seen these forest green velvet pumps?! I saw them and had to snatch them up, because I can wear them to work and of course all fall and winter for holiday parties! The green hue is light enough so you can see that they are green, but they are dark enough to where they can be worn more like a neutral. And the heel?! Perfect height, because it gives you a boost, but your feet are comfy because they aren't too tall. And this plaid shirt? I feel like a pretty little Christmas gift! I can wear it to work or play, so pretty much the perfect top for this season. This jean skirt is also great for work, because of the length, but it is trendy enough to wear out. I typically won't purchase a piece if I can't picture them being versatile - this outfit hit the jackpot!

So what are y'all excited about for fall? What comes to mind for me is that it is the start of a new season. To be quite frank, this summer season has kind of been rough for a myriad of reasons. I'm ready to start fresh and begin a new phase of life. I know I have the ability to start anew each day, but there is something special about an actual marker on the calendar that signifies a new chapter. This fall marks mine and Nick's 1 year wedding anniversary, which is kind of exciting. I can't believe it has already been a year! Other than that, I'm super excited for fall things in general! The parties, to opportunity to see more family and friends, and the joy and happiness that kind of exudes from everyone during this time.

I know this season tends to be super busy, so be sure to take time to re-group and relax! You deserve it. As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read and support my little corner of the internet.
