This past weekend, Nick and I made it over to The Shops at Clearfork! I had just been once for an event that Amanda Miller of The Miller Affect hosted, but Nick had never been. I tried explaining it to him, but even with that previous explanation, he was still in awe. It is a pretty amazing establishment. A point of purchase / outdoor mall, but more high end stores like Neiman Marcus, Burberry, and Tiffany and Co. I would compare it to Highland Park Village in Dallas, but more modern - Highland Park Village still has that old money feel if you know what I mean. Anyway, it's a little far for us Dallas peeps, but makes for a fun weekend type of date night! There are more price-point oriented boutiques and several specialty restaurants, so definitely something for everyone!

Saturday was a beautiful day in DFW - It was high 60s and sunny. Talk about a total dream after it being 13 degrees just a couple of days prior!  I knew that the weather would dip back down before we left Fort Worth, but still wanted to be comfy and cute! Enter this Madewell button down denim skirt. (side note it is mostly sold out at this point but here's a similar skirt here and another option here ). When I recently asked y'all what you wanted to see more of, I received a lot of workwear request. (say that 5 times fast!!). When I'm shopping for apparel,  I always try to picture how versatile this item will be...can I wear it to work? Can I wear it to brunch? Can I wear it for a night out? The answer to all these questions (for me at least) is YES YES YES!

Last June my office wardrobe went from being 100% casual to business casual with casual jean Fridays. This skirt can be dressed up or down and I can definitely wear it on a Monday or a Friday if I wanted to. It is one of those no brainer pieces that you can easily style in under 5 minutes if you need to. I love it so much, I wish I had it in black. Madewell had one of course, but I waited too long and they sold out of my size. I actually just ordered this Denim Utility Zip Skirt in black and this Station Mini Skirt in olive. (you can click through on the links before this sentence or on the images below. If it won't click through, just refresh the page and it will!) I'm excited to get these in and style them for y'all, because they can be made even more work friendly than my denim skirt!

I'm actually headed for 7 inches of snow and winter weather as of tonight, but my mind is already rolling on my winter to spring transitional wardrobe. This Madewell Cardigan is at the top of my list to survive the chilly mornings and somewhat sweaty afternoons and evenings. I've mentioned it before in several posts, but I am a sucker for a long cardigan. They just feel so chic to me. It might have something to do with all the cropped sweaters I wore than now making me want to throw up just thinking about them, but maybe not. (lol). I love wearing longline cardigans with skirts, shorts, dresses, and jeans. There really isn't much I wouldn't pair them with, except maybe a formal dress;) If you don't have one in your closet, I'd suggest you get one in this caramel color, because it goes with everything - brown and black! If you treat your cardigans right, you can keep them forever!  For more info on How to Properly Care for a Sweater, click here!

I hope this helps with your wardrobe come the awkward weather transition! You can pretty much use this look as a base for an  outfit, just change the boots to sandals, shuck the cardigan, and throw on a tank top. Focus on versatile items like this mini skirt, and you'll be golden. Hope you had a great day! You're halfway though the week. C E L E B R A T E! XOXO
