If you read my last post on athleisure and joggers, then you know that I fully support it! I do wear my yoga pants, when I'm not on the mat, and you can bet I rock sneakers, without having gone for a run; however, I try to make sure, that I always get my workout in. Days when I sweat, are just better than others. Or as Elle Woods says "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't." You're welcome, Nick ;)

Anyway, if you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I started working out with RPT Dallas, this January. I go 5 am, MWF and in just 2 weeks, Dylan, my personal trainer, had me down 4% in body fat. Whaaaat? Yes. No magic diet pills taken.

Dylan does a fantastic job of training. He may have me do similar movements day to day, but it's never the same regimen or workout. I feel like this is a major benefit of having a personal trainer. I don't have to even think about it, nor do I fall into monotony. I am constantly working out different parts of my body and it doesn't get boring. I'm the type of person who would just run (which you may think is boring), yet it's super important to strength train, and definitely an area I was lacking in. From boxing, to the bosu ball, I know that after my hour with RPT Dallas, my body has been WERKED.

A lot of people ask me, "why a personal trainer"? I usually ask them a question back, along the lines of "how hard do you push yourself in a workout?"  I don't not workout, but I do baby myself. I mean, who really wants to do 1 leg stand ups, with a 10 lb weight? Not I, said the cow. (oh, and that's a reference to The Little Red Hen, not calling anyone a cow;))

Another element of getting fit, is what you eat. Scratch that. It is the MAIN element. What you eat is so much more important than how much weight you can lift over your head. Dylan has me log all my food (yes, good and bad) and send it to him at the end of each day. This not only helps me choose wisely and keep me accountable, but helps him analyze my results. One thing I have learned so far,  is to look at sodium. I know to look for sugar, but never really thought to look for salt. You'd be surprised at how  much sodium can be, in even "healthy" food! It won't actually cause you to gain weight like extra sugars and calories will, but it will increase bloating, and why would you want that?!

If you're in the Dallas area and want to see awesome results, hit up Dylan, at RPTDallas@gmail.com. I mean, what do you have to lose, besides unwanted body fat? If you're in California, you can reach out to RoyalPersonalTraining@gmail.com. Oh, and rumor has it, Miami, you're next ;)
