I don’t know about y’all, but when I was in college and had to trudge to class in torrential downpours, there weren’t “cute” raincoats available. I had my thick and warm sorority raincoat, but it was a pullover, so it would 100% mess up my hair. PLUS unless it as freezing rain, it made me sweat. My other option / the only somewhat cute option I could find was a flamingo pink Columbia rain jacket. Granted, it worked and I’m pretty sure it’s how Nick and I got on the Kiss Cam (easy to spot LOL) at a Baylor game, but it’s not amazing feminine or anything like that.
Raincoats are definitely a basic you should have in your closet. One of my funniest travel memories is when my family traveled to Costa Rica when I was in elementary school.. My sister and I got these darling reversible jackets - one side was a “rain” side and was light purple. The other side was sweatshirt grey and super soft. The only problem was that they weren’t actually rain jackets!! We found that out the hard way, as we wore them in the rain forest and guess what? IT RAINED. Talk about miserable!!
Nowadays, your options are seriously endless. I made a shoppable collage for y’all to find your perfect match! Most are under $100 and on sales! They are so many cute patterns, color and prints available. I snatched this one up, because I loved the classic, but unusual dark green hue. It’s just not a color you find in raincoats, plus the gold detailing was precious.
Rainy season is here y’all, so don’t get caught unprepared. Gotta make it work until those May flowers finally arrive #AprilShowers 😉 Do you have a favorite raincoat? Like one that is realllly good? Let me know!!
P.S. The Texas bluebonnets are OUT. Have you seen them yet?
