I started taking a turmeric supplement almost two years ago. I originally wrote about it + the benefits of turmeric here. Itā€™s a great anti-inflammatory food that tastes good and does wonders for your body. While I knew that it was important for it to be turmeric curcumin, not just turmeric and that black pepper helps absorption, I didnā€™t know that a fat made it more soluble. Like what?! I had no idea that I should have been dousing my supplement in ghee or something along the lines of that. Iā€™m paying for a nice product and I want to get the most out of it I possibly can. I learned this on the Extra Dose Podcast talking about chronic inflammation with Carl Kuran, the founder of Leefy Organics, which leads me to this post! Before I forget, try Prana (turmeric ginger supplement) for 15% off w/code ELLEMULENOS!

For sure give the podcast a listen, but the headline is that I immediately checked out the Leefy Organics, because I was so impressed. Plus read all the reviews! Iā€™m all about living a more inflammatory-free life and I know you are too, as my post on Easy Anti-Inflammatory Diet On the Go is one of my top articles right now! As of today, Iā€™m am starting my third bottle of Prana and I LOVE it. I adore the taste of turmeric and it is something that I missed in the turmeric pills I have been taking. I enjoy buying raw turmeric, but it is expensive and it stains my hands. The Prana supplement tastes AMAZING and I literally look forward to taking it every morning. Some days I even have more! It helps me feel less bloated and I love taking it after a ā€œcheat mealā€ aka lots of pizza or pasta. Something that makes Prana different is that it also has ginger, which is literally my favorite flavor. Read about its benefits here.

Currently I subscribe to Prana, so I get it for under $30. My pill supplement was around $20, so Prana is more expensive, but since it has the fat to help it be more soluble. Also tinctures are usually more effective than pills, as they can absorb straight into your bloodstream. I keep Prana under my tongue for a couple seconds before I swallow, so it can get right to work! Yes, pills travel well, but Prana travels pretty well too. Just make sure you screw the lid on well and wrap it in a wash cloth. It is TSA compliant, so carry-on friendly too.

So have I seen a difference since taking it? I havenā€™t been to a chiropractor in almost 2 months and my joints have never felt better! I do intend to find one here, but in the meantime, Prana has helped my scoliosis and then some. A lot of people have said that it helps their menstrual cramps and migraines! I have had a couple headaches, but I think it was more of a hormonal thing than related to turmeric or not. At first I was finishing my inventory of turmeric pills, but now I just take Prana and I couldnā€™t be happier. Would highly recommend!

Love turmeric and want to try some of my other favorites? Primally Pure has a clarifying serum with turmeric in it and it is fantastic! Use code ELLEMULENOS for 10% off. I also really like this turmeric wellness tea and this turmeric and passionfruit tea is good too!
