I'm a big fan of the little black dress! You can never have too many LBDs. They are seriously perfect for every occasion (as long as you don't wear one to a wedding).

Because they are an easy choice to wear at any given moment, I've been trying to assess my LBD wardrobe to make sure that I have one for every event possible. I've broken them down into four essential categories below + examples.

1) Work- Think Audrey Hepburn. You want to look stylish and chic, yet totally professional. Sheath dress styles and thicker straps (if it is a sleeveless dress) will help you achieve this look.

2) Formal-Assess the silhouette. These dresses are usually strapless and give some shape or form to your body. Whether they are long or short, they are give you a boost of classiness.

3) Night Out-Try that trend. Out of all of these, this is the one that will probably change the most often in the fashion world. These types of dresses tend to be sassy and sexy. You shouldn't spend a lot of money on these, since they probably won't carry you from season to season. This dress from For Elyse is a prime example. It's super fun and is under $50.

Kimchi Blue Dress | Cooperative Dress | Kimchi Blue Skort | Kimchi Blue Dress | Ecote Dress

4) Casual-Consider the fabric. Depending on your work environment, you could probably get away with wearing them to the office; however, cotton and linen are two great examples of a less formal fabric. They are comfy and cute. These dresses can usually be styled up or down very well.

So, what's your favorite little black dress style? Don't you know I love them all ;)
