A couple weeks ago, I shared about my secret weapon in the natural deodorant gameā€¦ my charcoal deodorant! I mentioned it as an easy first step in spring cleaning your beauty routine, BUT Iā€™m hoping you wonā€™t stop there. Recently, I re-checked my ingredient lists and much to my dismay, some of my favorite, daily used products had coconut oil in them as a main ingredient. #UGH Coconut oil isnā€™t toxic or harmful, BUT it makes me break out like crazy, when used on my head and face. Itā€™s fine when it is used in things like my Primally Pure Deodorant and Body Butter, but you couldnā€™t pay me enough to put it on my face! I wrote more about this hereSide note: you can get 10% off your Primally Pure order w/ code ELLEMULENOS.

Even if you like your products, itā€™s good to just do a quick run through and throw out old products, recheck ingredients (sometimes brands change) and make sure everything is still aligned. Initially I hadnā€™t planned on doing a spring skincare update, because I honestly wasnā€™t planning on changing things up, BUT here we are. I wanted to share the updates I made and the new products that have found their way into my life.

MORNING:

Cleanser: * *UPDATE*  *CocoKind Oil to Milk Cleanser (I no longer use my cleansing oil because the one I was using had coconut oil. I ended up trying CocoKind, but also strongly considered Primally Pure Normal Cleansing Oil) I really like this cleanser because it starts as an oil, then goes creamy, leaving my skin so soft and smooth!

Toner: Primally Pure Everything Spray (see my blog post on it here) Get 10% off w/code ELLEMULENOS

Serum: Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum

*Jade Roll the serum in

Moisturizer: Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

Sunscreen: * *UPDATE * *Badger SPF 30 Active Mineral Sunscreen (My old sunscreen had coconut oil in it, so I changed it to this and Iā€™m super happy with it. Just in time for summer!)

EVENING:

Cleanser: * *UPDATE*  *CocoKind Oil to Milk Cleanser (I used to double cleanse, but now this pretty much does the trick. If I want to actually double cleanse, Iā€™ll just use it twice! If you want to do this, make sure you dry your face off in-between washes.)

Toner: Primally Pure Everything Spray Get 10% off w/code ELLEMULENOS

Serum: Osea Malibu Hyaluronic Sea Serum

Moisturizer: Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

Oil: Biossance Squalane Oil (I do oil AFTER everything, 1) it is what my medical esthetician said to do, but 2) because it makes sense. Moisturizer canā€™t penetrate oil, but oil can penetrate moisturizer! If youā€™re doing oil before anything else, it wonā€™t really absorb and you donā€™t want to waste your precious products do you?!)

*Gua Sha the oil in

FACEMASKS: * *UPDATE*  *  Iā€™m still loving Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Full Strength Mask, but the biggest update is that I canā€™t use my favorite charcoal mask anymore. Iā€™m looking into making my own, but havenā€™t gotten there yet. (Will keep yā€™all updated!) I finally tried the Ursa Major flash mask and really liked it, but I soon realized it had coconut in it as well. I like to use the Aztec Clay for my armpit detoxes, in addition to facial masks! I still like the Herbivore Blue Tansy and Brighten masks, in addition to Tata Harper masks, though I had to throw out the purifying mask due to coconut oil.  Their resurfacing mask doesnā€™t have it though! Osea Malibuā€™s white clay one is good, but I only reach for that one during summer. I have also been trying out the Biossance Tea Tree Mask. I reallllly want the Mahalo Petal Hydrating Mask, but have been holding off because of the price. For regular exfoliation I use the One Love Organics Bamboo Sponge. I had to stop using my exfoliating scrub due to coconut oil, but the sponge holds its own for sure. I exfoliate 2-3 times a week and mask 1-2 times a week.

If you have already changed your deodorant this spring, look into changing something else to keep your spring cleaning going! Maybe your facial cleanser? Whatever you reach for the most, start with those! Donā€™t forget you can get 10% off your Primally Pure order w/code ELLEMULENOS. Will help your bank account while you fund your new clean beauty!!

P.S. This was my Easter outfit last weekend. I got a lot of comments about the dress Instagram, so Iā€™m happy to share it with you on the blog today. It would make for a perfect summer staple in your wardrobe. Enjoy this spring weather, yā€™all! I fear patio weather will come to an end very soon. #sadbuttrue
