Insert the cliche “I can’t believe it’s already 2019” phrase, because honestly I can’t believe it is. To be honest, 2018 kind of drug on. I’m actually glad to be done with it and am super excited for 2019 to be here. Since I’ve had a blog, my first post of the new year has always been the color of the year. Say whatever you want, but I think the color does affect the year. 2018 turned out to be very moody…the color was ultra-violet, so um DUH! I guess I was hoping for the rich/royalty aspect of the hue ;)
Anyway, Pantone named 2019’s color of the year Living Coral, which is exactly what it sounds like. They describe it as “An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” To be honest, coral isn’t my favorite color… I have a lot of pinky-red undertones in my skin and coral just brings those out more #nothankyou BUT there’s a lot of great coral variations out there that I am excited to try. Pantone also says Living Coral represents positive outlooks and playfulness and I’m all about that for 2019!
My word for 2019 is going to be INTENTION. The definition being to aim or to plan. It’s kind of funny, because I am very type A and prefer to plan. I think 2018 was a year of kind of just going through the motions, which I don’t want to do. I want all my actions to have not only good intent, but a firm reasoning. Whether it is my words, hanging out with friends, or even something as simple as eating, I want to do them with good intent. I got to read a lot of y’alls words for the year here. I’ve started doing some giveaways and one of my favorite parts is reading the answers to the questions I ask as an entry. Y’alls words and thoughts for 2019 are so great!
Back on the Living Coral thought, I rounded up some favorite items within the “it” color for easy shopping! Just click on the image and you’ll be taken to the direct link! If it doesn’t work, jus refresh the page and it should work like a charm!
What’s your word / goals for 2019? What do you think of the color that Pantone picked? I hope you think the hue is as fitting for the year as I do! Happy first day of 2019!! XOXO
