If you've never read the "About" section on my blog home page, you may not know why I created Southern Elle Style- It was to complement my online bow tie shop! I have had a thing for menswear for a while...It began in college, when I made a pattern for a bow tie for the guy next door. Since then, I have done ties for gifts, events, and even weddings!

My senior apparel report was on androgyny and was/am in full support of this trend. I love it when girls pull off bow ties, whether it be worn in the normal sense- around the neck, or as a headband or hair accessory.

Buns are such an easy hairstyle, especially when you can get by on one more day of dry shampoo! An easy way to accessorize it is with a bow, but that can seem childish. Why not try out a bow tie?! Unsure of the look, but still curious enough to try it? Be a part of my FIRST giveaway!
